ANIMALS
The Portuguese let their dogs run free in the streets. You may think that they are stray dogs but this is normally not the case. Beware, the Portuguese dogs like barking.
If you bring an animal you will need a recent health and rabies certificate.
ARRIVALS
In Ericeira you can enter the property between 14 hrs and 19 hrs
In Tavira between 16 hrs and 19 hrs
In the rest of
the country arrival is usually between 15 hrs and 19 hrs.
You must leave on the day of departure before 09.00 hrs.
Please verify the arrival time on your voucher.
OFFICE HOURS :
- In the summer (01/06 to 30/09) the office is open 9.30-12.30 and 14.00-19.00 six days a week.
- In the winter the office is open 9.30-12.00 and 14.30-18.00 from Monday to Friday only.
- The office is open, exceptionally, 14.00-18.00 hrs on non working days for previously arranged arrivals.
If you arrive after 19.00 we cannot guarantee that you can obtain the keys to your property until the next day except by prior arrangement, in which case a supplement may be payable. Clients likely to arrive late should book our taxi transfer from Lisbon airport direct to their property. The driver will have the keys.
If it is your intention to arrive on another day than the first day of your booking please inform the office accordingly so that nobody waits for you unnecessarily.
Should you arrive during office hours but nobody is present please wait a little because we accompany every client to their house and this may on occasion lead to the office being unmanned for short periods.
It may also be possible that the cleaning of your villa has not quite finished when you arrive there, you can nevertheless deposit you luggage leaving the cleaning ladies to finish their work.

BEDROOMS
The shown number of occupants is in the description of the house contractual and in no circumstances to be exceeded. Tents and caravans are not allowed on the properties.
Click here to see the list of bedsizes in Ericeira. For the rest of the country single beds generally measure 90x185 cm and double beds 133x185 cm.
Blankets and pillows are provided. In Portugal like all other southern countries double beds have large blankets for each bed (not for each person). Likewise, if linen is included in your property or if you have rented linen, there will be 2 sheets per bed, not per person, irrespectively if it is a single or a double bed.
In Ericeira you must bring your own bedlinen and towels or you can rent them if you order in advance. In most of the other parts of the country
they are included. Please refer to the description of te house.
Sleeping bags are not allowed instead of sheets. They stain the mattresses
or mattress covers and you will be charged for the cleaning which is expensive.
There is not always a reading lamp at each bed, nor is there a wardrobe in each and every bedroom. On the floorplans you can usually see how many wardrobes the house contains.
Please note that Portuguese bed bases, even the most recent ones, consist of a wooden board set on a wood or metal frame, instead of the more usual spring base. This is a tradition, and they are just as comfortable.

BREAKAGE DEPOSIT
Security deposit (returnable) of Euro 250 must be paid at the same time as the balance of your villa rental.
If all the members of the party are under 23 years you will be asked for
Euro 500. In off season if your require heating, you will be asked for
a further security deposit of Euro 100.
DISTANCES
Distances to the beach and the town centre are by the most direct road. The distances are quoted in good faith and are correct to the best of our belief, but we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy.
DOGS AND CATS
We are animal lovers but please do not let your pets sleep on beds or settees as many people are allergic and you may be the cause of a child's ruined holiday.
The client is responsible for any marks or scratches in the house made by the pets.

FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT
Please remember that the equipment and furniture have been done by Portuguese owners for themselves and in Portuguese style and it may not resemble what you are used to. We do not take the responsibility for individual expectations and imaginations.
Houses are normally equipped with crockery and utensils for the maximum number of persons allowed for each house. They all have a bathroom and a kitchen equipped with refrigerator, gas cooker, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Properties with terraces or balconies have barbecues and facilities for eating outdoors.

A holiday house does not have as many cooking utensils as an ordinary household. Holiday houses are as different as their owners. Therefore, you cannot expect to find the same kind of kitchen equipment, as you are used to at home. You have to bring your own dishcloths, toilet paper, kitchen roll and cleaning materials and even maybe your favorite knife. Pack for instance a small bag with the most necessary kitchen and toilet requisites - then you are prepared
Some of the properties have washing machines and dishwashers. Please note that we do not guarantee that these appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, TV sets, microwawe ovens) will be in good working order as this depends on the previous vacationer's use.All properties with terrace or balcony big enough to accomodate outdoor eating have garden table and chairs. A sunshade is not standard equipment in holiday homes.

INSECTS
Portugal has a warm climate in the summer
and this creates a natural breeding ground for various forms of insectlife
(e.g. bees, spiders, wasps, ants). There is unfortunately nothing that
we are able to do about this.
GARDENS & TERRACES
Gardens and terraces with plants and flowers need watering and maintenance. Those responsible to do this come as and when their own schedule dictates. Regretfully it is impossible to give advance notice. We feel sure you will understand this.
NOISE / CONSTRUCTIONS
Even though you are on holiday ordinary life continues for everybody else.We are not informed when building and constructions start and we do not accept responsibility for any nuisance caused by this.

TO
GET TO PORTUGAL
There are many airlines from all over the world flying to Lisbon, the
Algarve or Oporto.We are happy to assist you in reserving your flights.

To get to Ericeira from Lisbon airport:
A shuttle runs between Lisbon airport and the centre of the city; it
stops on its way at "Campo Grande", or you can take a taxi . Buses go
from this bus stops every hour to Ericeira in the daytime. You must
count on about 2 hours' travel if you decide to use this method.
You may, however, find it more practical to order a TAXI from us to
take you from the airport to Ericeira. The drive takes less than 1 hour.
We have negotiated a preferential rate for this transfer. Please
see your pricelist for details.
The taxi-driver will be waiting for you when you come out from Customs.
He will be holding up a sheet of paper with your name; he will give
you the keys to your holiday house and take you there direct.
Alternatively you can get a taxi at the airport rank or rent a car.
Please note that if you arrive after 19.30 hrs and have not ordered
the taxi transfer through us we cannot guarantee that you can obtain
the keys to your property until the next day except by prior arrangement,
in which case a supplement may be payable.

To get to your holiday home from Algarve Airport : There are
many buses from Faro going both east and west along the coast. Alternatively
you can get a taxi at the airport rank. The distance from Faro Airport
to either Tavira or Albufeira is approx. 35 kms.
We can also book a car for you to be picked up at the airport.

WATER & ELECTRICITY
Voltage : 230 volts at a frequency of 50 Hertz. All sockets follow European standards.
Certain seasons can be dry and this may result in the curtailment of water supplies. No responsibility can be accepted for the breakdown of public services, including water and electricity.
